Set up Shopify MCP in Continue

Interact with Shopify Admin GraphQL API to manage products, orders, customers, inventory, and store data from your AI editor.

Locate the config file

Continue reads MCP server configuration from the following file:

~/.continue/config.yaml

Create this file if it does not already exist.

Add the configuration

Add the following to your Continue config file:

Set up environment variables

Shopify MCP requires the following environment variables:

SHOPIFY_ACCESS_TOKENRequired

Shopify Admin API access token

SHOPIFY_STORE_DOMAINRequired

Your Shopify store domain (e.g. my-store.myshopify.com)

Verify it works

Restart Continue. Shopify MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 12 tools available.

This server adds approximately 6,180 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
