Set up SQLite MCP in Continue

Query and manage SQLite databases. Create tables, run queries, and inspect data directly from your AI editor.

1

Locate the config file

Continue reads MCP server configuration from the following file:

~/.continue/config.yaml

Create this file if it does not already exist.

2

Add the configuration

Add the following to your Continue config file:

yaml
mcpServers:
  - name: sqlite-mcp
    command: npx
    args:
      - -y
      - sqlite-mcp
3

Set up environment variables

No environment variables needed. SQLite MCP works out of the box without any API keys or tokens.

4

Verify it works

Restart Continue. SQLite MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 6 tools available.

This server adds approximately 3,090 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
