Set up Stripe MCP in Claude Code

Integrate Stripe APIs for payments, subscriptions, customers, and invoices directly from your AI editor using the official Stripe agent toolkit.

Locate the config file

Claude Code reads MCP server configuration from the following file:

~/.claude.json

Create this file if it does not already exist.

Add the configuration

You can configure Stripe MCP using the CLI command or by editing the config file directly.

Option A: CLI command

Set up environment variables

Stripe MCP requires the following environment variables:

STRIPE_SECRET_KEYRequired

Stripe secret API key

Verify it works

Restart Claude Code. Stripe MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 15 tools available.

This server adds approximately 7,725 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
