Set up Bitbucket MCP in Claude Code
Interact with Atlassian Bitbucket workspaces, repositories, pull requests, and code search through the Bitbucket API.

Locate the config file
Claude Code reads MCP server configuration from the following file:
~/.claude.jsonCreate this file if it does not already exist.

Add the configuration
You can configure Bitbucket MCP using the CLI command or by editing the config file directly.

Set up environment variables
Bitbucket MCP requires the following environment variables:
ATLASSIAN_BITBUCKET_USERNAMERequiredBitbucket username or email
ATLASSIAN_BITBUCKET_TOKENRequiredBitbucket app password or API token

Verify it works
Restart Claude Code. Bitbucket MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 10 tools available.
This server adds approximately 5,150 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
