Set up ESLint MCP in Claude Code
Run ESLint diagnostics, fix linting issues, and inspect ESLint configuration directly from your AI editor using the official ESLint MCP server.

Locate the config file
Claude Code reads MCP server configuration from the following file:
~/.claude.jsonCreate this file if it does not already exist.

Add the configuration
You can configure ESLint MCP using the CLI command or by editing the config file directly.

Set up environment variables
No environment variables needed. ESLint MCP works out of the box without any API keys or tokens.

Verify it works
Restart Claude Code. ESLint MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 4 tools available.
This server adds approximately 2,060 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
