Set up ESLint MCP in Windsurf

Run ESLint diagnostics, fix linting issues, and inspect ESLint configuration directly from your AI editor using the official ESLint MCP server.

Locate the config file

Windsurf reads MCP server configuration from the following file:

~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json

Create this file if it does not already exist.

Add the following to your Windsurf config file:

No environment variables needed. ESLint MCP works out of the box without any API keys or tokens.

Restart Windsurf. ESLint MCP should appear in your MCP server list with 4 tools available.

This server adds approximately 2,060 tokens to your context window for tool definitions.
